Don’t Start at the Park III, United We Stand

The Don’t Start Initiative and the Peoria Police Department are excited to announce a collaborative event Don’t Start at the Park III, United We Stand. The event will be held on Saturday July 9 at John Gwynn, Jr. Park.
This event will pair a police officer with community members to form a team that will compete with other teams in friendly competition. Officers from the Peoria Police Department, Peoria Public Schools, Peoria County Sheriff’s Department and Peoria Firefighters will be represented. Competitive activities will include 3-point shooting, HORSE and free throw shooting. Prizes will be awarded to winning teams. Teams will rotate though the different activities offered.
Many community leaders and businesses have stepped up to offer support and they will be recognized at the event.
The event will be live-streamed as well as being posted on-line.
